Sentence Of The Day

The tall turrets over looked the ancient medieval castle and as if it were magic. The rusty portcullis raised. The wooden drawbridge landed softly on the bland meadow and five knights crossed calmly.

Getting an XBox One for my birthday present!

Last Sunday, my Mum and Dad bought me my early birthday present, while I was at my grandparents' house. When my Mum and Dad were at my house, my grandad dropped me off at my house. Then my Mum told me to close my eyes. Then I opened it and it was an… XBox One! I was so excited and I got  5 games. The games were Forza Motorsport 5, Kinect Sports Rivals and Titanfall. As well, on my birthday I got FIFA 14 and Angry Birds Star Wars. Forza Motorsport 5, Kinect Sports Rivals, FIFA 14 and Angry Birds Star Wars were rated as G and Titanfall was rated R16 so my Mum had decided to sell it. Then my uncle had came over to plug it in to our 55" Samsung LED Smart 3D TV and to set it up. Then yesterday was our first day playing it. We first played Forza Motorsport 5. I was a Subaru BRZ which had 500 horsepower. We had raced at the Top Gear test track and 4 other tracks. We started off and I had zoomed past at the time where it was straight and nearly got to 7th gear at over 150 mph which is over 245 km/h. Then I went past the finish and I finished in 10:15. There was a bit of damage to my car but the game was awesome. My favourite game at the moment is FIFA 14 because there has been some games I've played with my brother that have been  awesome. We have scored some really good goals. It's just like the real FIFA. By Shaan. Here are pictures of the console with the Kinect and my favourite 4 games.

The adventures of Tommy-part 1

Sam shouted loudly so that I could hear him. He yelled that he thought I was a chicken for not wanting to go into the haunted house. Sam went in and started climbing the broken staircase. I came to the doorway and said that I thought that the staircase was going to break but Sam just said I was afraid of ghosts and the haunted house. Then Karen came up and tried  to get me to go in. She said she would go in with me, and that way sam wouldn't think I was a chicken. I decided to not go in. Then Karen went in to follow Sam.
I sat and waited for over half and hour. Suddenly .......

Ferdinand Magellan

Ferdinand Magellan was born in TrĂ¡s-os-Moutes e Alto Douro Portugal, 1480. He died at the age of 40-41 on April 27, in Mactan, Philippines. He had only completed half of his epic voyage around the world. Not only was Ferdinand known for that but sailed the first voyage from Europe to Asia using the West route, rounding the south of the Americas and also being the first to cross the Pacific. He also sailed for King Charles 1 of Spain when searching for a west route to the Maluku Islands of Indonesia known as the Spice Islands in his day. Unfortunately when passing the Philippines he was killed in the brutal Battle of Mactan.
However sixteen months later one of his ships arrived in Spain. On board were 18 survivors who had just sailed around the world.

The Forest by Hunter

The sub-zero forest's pine easily towered over the moose in front of us. The inspiringly unique snowflakes fell on me senselessly. It was only then that the true beauty of the Canadian forest was revealed to me and all the others. The unpassable forest floor was coated in prowess birch and pine saplings. Although the forest was protected from logging and we were against it, the forest actually looked like it needed it, like a cow being sucked of its milk. The cloudy white snow gently and precisely covered the forest within hours. This amazing forest, what should be a famous landmark, seemed almost debonaire. This is one place under the category: undescribable.

Jungle fire part 2

JUNGLE FIRE PART 2

As the water swallowed me into its depths, I caught a glimpse of a  dark green mottled giant turtle shell flash past my shocked bloodshot eyes, back ino the depths of the river.

As it came back up I realized I was in grave, grave danger. I launched myself up to the surface kicking with all I had left, all my spirit. When my head broke the surface somthing clamped onto my leg, its teeth piercing my skin dragging me under the water.

To be clear it fought, so I fought back kicking, punching and stabbing with my dagger. Flint fought too, when I mananged to drag myself onto the river bank I finished its piercing grasp by slitting its neck. It released its grip and I examined it … it...it was a Kapa, snatcher of children, mythical creature.

I took a claw from its cold floating corpse as proof of its existence, then I stood up and glumly stared into the fire, starting my long walk to town.

Winter

The dream like landscape was amazing with snowflakes drifting in the wind, each as unique and more beautiful than the last. The white blanket shining like jewels and silk. The snow on the lifeless tree rests peacefully till the wind blows and the rustling of the bare tree chimes perfectly with the drops from the glacial icicles. Winter, the amazing and beautiful snow season.

Haunted House

As I walked along the gravel path the wind whistled through the trees. The moon hung over the trees illuminatining  the road in front of me. Suddenly an electric bolt of lightning struck. I heard a crack and the wail of a falling tree. I hurried on this time, almost running. A deep rumble of thunder echoed through the trees and a down pour of rain erupted from the sky. As I hurried on I spotted the house in the distance. Finally, the house I'd been waiting for! But as I got closer to the house, to my dismay it didn't look as welcoming as I imagined.

Marco Polo was born in the year 1254 to a wealthy merchant family. Much of his childhood was spent parentless, and he was raised by an extended family. Polo's mother died when he was young, and his father and uncle, successful jewel merchants Niccolo and Maffeo Polo, were in Asia for much of Polo's youth.

Their journeys brought them into present-day China, where they joined a diplomatic mission to the court of Kublai Khan, the Mongol leader whose grandfather, Genghis Khan, had conquered Northeast Asia. In 1269, the two men returned to Venice, and immediately started making plans for their return to Khan's court. Sentence of the day-A classroom full of children.

The stern principal walked alongside the teacher, yelling at the giggling and chattering children. Meanwhile, behind the principal's back, other kids played with their rulers, firing pencils and rubbers everywhere. But when a pencil hit the top of the principal's head the giggling and chattering stopped. Everything went silent...

Remembered By Kahma

We are being threatened by a storm overhead. Our only mast has snapped from an earlier storm so we have no control over our boat what so ever. Now were heading in an unpleasant direction. Suddenly the boat starts to sway in a harsher manner than before. A nasty feeling is penetrating me we are being pulled by anxious waves. There are waiting for us to weaken so they can pull us down to the bottom of this black abyss so called the sea. Out of nowhere a crash of thunder frightens us and lightning is hiding in the clouds. I realize we are in the middle of the tempest. The unforgiving sea is trying to devour us. Suddenly a great surge of lightning strikes a deathly blow at our ship. I see the ocean getting closer. I now realize we are sinking and there's no way to stop it. Women and children are being called to the life boats along with others. I have an idea to make sure that if we don't make it that we will still be remembered. I quickly grab some paper and some ink then begin writing about what is currently happening and not to forget us. I finish then I grab a hollow wine bottle slip the paper in, clasp the lid on tight then toss it into the raged sea. Then I calmly walk to my cabin. I lie on my hammock preparing for the worse but I'm not afraid because I know I'm brave and courageous and I know we will not be forgotten. Suddenly I awake in my bed its morning and I'm at home in my house. I'm no longer at sea in 1607. I'm at home in 2014.... wait am I? ''Mum what's my name?'' I call. ''What do you mean Kahma?'' . I don't reply. It sure does feel good to be remembered.

As the first scrapings of light take over from the lonely night. The frozen leaves twinkle in the morning sun and the birds start to sing there song. Pop! My eyes flicker open and the toaster launches the burnt toast into the air and onto my plate. Crunch! I bite into my toast.

Doom by Jake

As the blubbery seal yawns it's bad breath exhales onto my legs. I  take a sip from my water bottle it is as freezing cold as freezing cold gets. Large cracks are appearing in the ice before me. My frostbitten fingers are going numb. I am dooooooooomed!

Bob's Bush Camp By Minh Anh

I bumped my head as I concentrated on carrying the wood back to the fire, I was concentrating so much to not drop the wood that I forgot how low the roof was. The heat of the fire was like a candle next to my face. I felt like in 10 seconds I was going to melt into a puddle. The gridle scones smelt buttery and sweet. The tea was warm and looked delicious . When I tasted the gridle scones with strawberry jam and butter on top, it was so yum I ate a second scone and drank my tea. Gridle scones with tea goes really well together. Mr. Hawthorne was bellowing instuctions at us if we don't get it right but most of the time he was a great man. I enjoyed cooking the gridle scones.

Tama and Praful's EOTC iMOvie

High Ropes by Tama

Yeah Yeah! We are at Birkenhead Leisure Centre. The first thing we did was go down stairs to the rock climbing room. We ate some morning tea then we got into our groups 1, 2 and 3. When we got into our groups we found out what activity we were doing. My group was doing high ropes first. When we got to the high ropes we got into our gear and then the instructor told us what courses we were allowed to do. We were allowed to do the: centipede/floating islands/spiderweb/and there was the beam. The first one I did was the spiderweb. I got clipped up with the harness and I climbed. I was got tired but I never gave up. I was still climbing but then I yelled, "Can I come down." Then I leaned back and dropped. I felt like I was flying until I touched the ground. Next one I did was the centipede and that's even harder because it wiggles but that didn't stop me and I'm just two steps away from finishing it and I do it . When I made it up I leaned back to jump. To be continued................  here's some photos!!!!!!!!! BY TAMA

But i did not do the catapiller because there was not enough time to do it.
At the end i felt really happy.

G.One and Ra.One being India's best superheroes.

G.One and Ra.One are two of India's best superheroes for India One. On the 6th of March 1935, they were driving in the city of Pune, India and they parked somewhere near a dairy shop. When they looked at the shop next to it, they got out of their 1932 Ford V8 and they looked at the name and it said, FRANKENSTEIN the scientist's shop. They went in the shop and we saw Frankenstein making science experiments. G.One said, "Can we see one of your science experiments Mr. Frankenstein". Then Frankenstein said evily,"Yes, I will and I'm going to make one that can kill you but not me". Then they heard a squawk from a hawk named Hawky. The gas was coming. Then G.One whispered to Ra.One, "Defend the gas with our forcefields". Then "BOOM!" Ra.One and G.One put their forcefields towards the gas. When they defended it, they quickly ran out of the shop and then G.One saw someone named Jakob was blocking the door of a supermarket. Then G.One said furiously, "Halt there and stop blocking the door, it is illegal". Then they went to discover a cave in the East of Pune, when they got there, G.One and Ra.One saw Mahatma Gandhi, and he showed the two superheroes the way to get out of the cave. Then Mahatma Gandhi said, "Beware!", "Why did you say Beware, Mahatma", G.One said, "Because there is lots of spider webs and bats.", Then G.One and Ra.One replied, "We are superheroes and we can destroy them". After they destroyed them and got out of the cave, they had lived a super future since they were superheroes.
