The Light by William

The clouds parted before me and all rain, sleet, thunder and lightning ceased. I could feel the rain drying with the intense but welcome heat and light. The algae covered and musky steps vanished into the sun like space in my line of sight, I drew hope from it and heard the gentle voices wafting over to beckon me. I knew what this unearthly light was, after all I'd done I knew this was heaven. So then banished all thoughts of despair, replaced them with steely determination and took my first step on a long road to freedom and happiness.
